Viofo a129 duo pro1/3/2024 ![]() I think you are mixing up phone service and wifi, granted both are wireless things but often deal in different frequency spectrum's. Collectively, we've been able to determine what some of them mean, but an official explanation from Viofo sure would be nice! After doing so, you'll need to do a return to default settings on your phone, and then customize the settings as you prefer.Īnother challenge we A129 users face is there is no explanation in the manual or on the Viofo website as to what the various beeps are communicating to us. Have you done a pin-reset on your cam yet? If not, that's probably a good thing to do. but why was it not recording? It makes no sense that the cam stopped in that time frame. The constant beeping when your returned to your car was probably alerting you to the fact that the cam was not recording. Sometimes the connection happens quicker, but sometimes it can take me up to 10 seconds to connect phone to cam via wifi. The easiest problem first, Wifi - with that I normally push and hold the wifi button for 5 - 10 seconds normally in that time frame the screen will show the icon for wifi connected. Video Cut-Off Problem - sometimes videos are cut short by 10-30 seconds.Instruction Manual doesn't say anything about interpreting what various beeps mean. When starting car, A129 works like normal in "driving mode". Returning to car - A129 was in parking mode: continuous beeps heard & recording stopped after only 2 hours pushing leftmost button displays screen, stops beeping and then turns-off A129.Need to push leftmost button to stop beeps and to start driving mode Starting Car after being in Parking Mode: a series of continuous beeps while starting "driving mode".Summary of A129 Problems Reported on this Thread I believe this problem came about with the firmware 1.9 update. The solution is to merely press the left menu button to make the dash cam start and function properly. One small issue that I was reminded of yesterday is when you start up your car, after your dash cam had been "on in parking mode" and hear a series of beeps continually.Hopefully at some point, they get added to Viofo's fix-it list and actually get fixed! Your sharing can help new and existing users of the A129 understand the dash cam's challenges. So, please share any challenges/problems you have experienced using your A129. And although Viofo is aware of numerous reported problems with the A129, they do not share them with their customers nor indicate that they plan on fixing the problems in a future update. Sometimes reported problems just get buried in some thead like "buffered parking mode" although the problems may have nothing to do with buffered parking mode. One challenge new and existing customers face is "now knowing what all the problems are" with this dash cam. Initially ordered the v1p 3rd gen 1080 dual rexing for $160, but these other options make more sense to me.Īlso, for anyone with rexing, do you know if the hardwire (smart version) rexing kit is required if using rexing vs using a generic one with two leads one for parking mode? Actually, same question on the viofo, they seem to have their own hardwire kit, but wondering if any other kit will work just fine, so long as it has both power leads.Recently Joe384 mentioned he has a number of problems he's dealing with on his Viofo A129. ![]() I'm mainly interested in wifi app ability, gps and parking mode (hardwire kit). ![]() Maybe the rexing v5 4k is at full 30 fps? I would think the 60 fps may still win, so viofo. ![]() Is it still the better bet to go viofo here even though for $20 more you can go 4k in the front?Īctually in looking, i think the rexing v1p at least, is only 24 fps, while the viofo a129 is 1440p at 60 fps. Currently the viofo a120 plus duo is $161 on amazon. Currently rexing has a good deal on the v1p at $189 shipped, but many seem to say the VIOFO is the better way to go in general. ![]()
